Well, I don't have a very good voice but thanks. We went into the studio to record in mid-ish August(03) and the results were pretty good for the most part. But I don't think anyone is gonna hear it because everyones involvement kinda died. Ian is in Mass, Kari is in Plymouth, Jason is still here but he is playing in a band called Heavensight and is also rumored to be playing in Overture with ex-Pinion bassist Brandon Riesch. We were in StutterMonkey together but I haven't really talked to them in around three months so it seems to have died out. My theory on being in three bands is this: You can only spred your energies so thin at any respecable or detectable energy level before everything you are a part of chips and falls away. It is the equivelent of painting a house with one gallon of paint, you can make it happen but it is really hard and none of it will last long.
I am just sitting around the house watching a lot of TV and spending some time with my kids. Working. I am also acting as mentor to Ians little sister Caitlin who is writting an album and recording it in my livingroom for a school project. She is writting everything. I am helping her with the finer aspects of songwritting and recording. A LOT of theory. Trying to keep it as real and authentic as possible. I'm thinking about putting her on Rockfest this year but I'll have to discuss it with the commitee.
Doing some research into various religions for philosophy and lyric purposes(and plus I'm board), mainly the roots and history of christianity, wicken, atheism and paganism. The druids kind of had it there for a little while but there isn't really truth to anything anymore besides wicken(which is basicly pre-christianity druid), it seems to be the only thing that hasn't been filtered entirely.
Other than that, I've been listening to a lot of trancy drug induced meditation stuff like tool, APC, AudioSlave and Sneaker Pimps trying to fuse it all with an edge. Keeping my mixing straight. I'm just waitng to get my license back so I can get out there and join/form another band. That is a little rough though because considering what I/we just had, pretty much anything I do is gonna have to wait to even compare to the comfort, familiarity and purposeful innocence that was involved with being in Pinion while keeping the Fred Durst attitude to a minimum. How do you replace that chemistry?
Well, I guess thats it.
