The problem with Chris is that he's NOT thinking. You can corral all the local bands onto a nice little "record label" (read: club), but that doesn't do anything. To get all the bands into a decent recording studio costs a lot of money. An amount of money that I can guarantee you no-one is going to dish out unless they're expecting some healthy immediate returns.

It's all nice and neat to sit there and say "Oh, ho hum, no-one's going to do anything", but the simple truth is there ARE people doing things out here in the North Country to get themselves heard. Maybe you just haven't looked outside of Berlin. Case in point: the thriving power-pop scene (some call it "punk") in Littleton, St. J, and beyond. They have their own little "label" that is purely just a little club that gets together to record their songs on digital 8-trackers furnished by their fathers. It may seem like they're just garage bands, until you realize that they're playing gigs with bands that have been on the Warped Tour. They're doing something that's realistic, and they've managed to somehow avoid the egos of the world that want to be the czar of the local music scene.

And some other people that you probably haven't heard of put on their own shows, manage to get radio airplay for their live recordings (let alone their studio stuff), and even find time to feature the other bands on the bill on the air, as well (along with THEIR studio material). Of course, Chris, you don't know about any of that, because you're not involved in it, therefore it's unimportant.

And I want to have mad, naked sex with Silly Girl.
