Subject: 1956/57 Parkhurst

From what I've seen in books and websites, Parkhurst did not issue a card set for 1956/57. However, a friend has acquired some that appear to be from exactly that season. The stats on the back end with 55/56. The text is in both English and French. Players include Howe, Plante, etc. Did Parkhurst finally issue this set in later years or has my friend discovered a scarce item?
I live in Phoenix, Arizona and, although the city fancies itself a "hockey town" since the Winnipeg Jets moved here, the dealers around here seem quite ignorant about the sport. Can anyone help me with this one?
