Subject: WCBS-FM ...Protest the end of the DOO-WOP SHOP

This Is Very Important"

As of Aug 25, 2002 NYC will be with out it's
Sunday Night Doo Wop Shopon WCBS FM.
Don K. Reed has been airing this show for 27 yrs.
The powers that be at CBS have decided it is time to
put Doo Wop on the retirement shelf.>:-(
Target! Younger listeners. Format 70's-80's Oldies.
We can not let this happen.

We fought the fight for Harvey Holiday in Philly, Ken Held in Miami.
We won these.
Let's win again in NYC.
Especially in NYC,
the home of so much of the music we love.

In order to be effective in our attempt to keep this music alive on CBS,
and keeping the Doo Wop Shop with Don K. Reed on the air, our efforts
need to be channeled in the right spots. Here are the people we need to
contact to express our displeasure.

First of all the person responsible for the demise of the show is
Maura Mason, VP & General Manager of CBS FM.
It was her decision, and hers alone.
She wants to change the station to reach a
25-49 year oldlistening audience.
She hates the music and couldn't care less about the
ratings, the show, etc. It's her way or the highway. So all the anger
and frustration needs to be directed towards her. She can be reached at
212-846-5100 or atmmason@cbs.com .

Joe McCoy, VP & Program Director of CBS FM is only a yes man.
He's hanging on until he retires. He's not going to rock the boat.
A Wimp! But bombard him anyway.
He can be reached directly at 212-846-5148 or at
jmccoy@cbs.com.

Dan Mason, (not-related) President of Infinity Broadcasting, is a good
guy, yet let's his people run the ship as they see fit. Use a little
tact in your contact with him. He can be reached directly at
301-983-4833 or by fax at 301-983-4421 ordmason@cbs.com.

Bill Figenshu, VP of Infinity Broadcasting. He believes Doo-Wop should
be in NYC. He's located on the 51st floor at 1515 Broadway, (station is
on the 40th floor). He can be reached atbfigenshu@cbs.com.

Walt has supplied the correct info for the rally that's being held next
Wednesday at the station on another post.

Please pass this info on to everyone that cares about this music.
Let's get 1000 E-mails out.
In Joint Channeled Harmony
Bruce (DooWopDJ)

Thank you Bruce

And

Thank You All In Advance
