Jade Conners
21 years old
5'3", 120 lbs, dark brown hair, brown eyes, tan skin
She was born and raised in Southern California, and she fits the SoCal stereotype. She loves to spend, spend, spend, and is often thought of as snooty, although she is actually very friendly, polite, and generous. She is drop dead gorgeous, just like her prized filly.

Shetalkstoangels
bay Thoroughbred filly
3 years old
By Coronado's Quest out of Desert Stormer, by Storm Cat
A haughty champion, regally bred. Stands only 15 hands tall, but is perfectly built, and has a finely sculpted head, much like an Arabian. Loves attention. Has a star, snip, and two hind socks.

A sparkling gold Mercedes convertible pulls up to the spacious farm. A dark-haired, olive-skinned girl with thick black Gucci sunglasses gets out of the driver's side. She's gorgeous, but looks totally out of place in her denim miniskirt, lowcut black blouse, and 2 inch heels. Her perfectly styled hair seems untouched by the slight, summery breeze, and her shiny pink lips curve into a smile. Her tan, smooth legs carry her up to greet Cassandra, and just as she is about to move her car, a black Dodge Ram toting a brand new four-horse trailer pulls up. Jade smiles. In moments, a gorgeous bay filly is unloaded from the trailer. Her name is household. Shetalkstoangels was a champion. The epitome of what a Thoroughbred should be, the mahogany daughter of Coronado's Quest and Desert Stormer was a multi-millionaire, lightning-fast, drop dead gorgeous, and had narrowly escaped death just a few months earlier.

Even before she had been brought into this world, Shetalkstoangels was hailed as superior to most Thoroughbred foals of her crop. Her sire was a millionaire, and had won races like the Metropolitan Mile. He was sired by a multi-millionaire son of Mr. Prospector, Forty Niner, out of a daughter of Damascus, Laughing Look. Desert Stormer was an incredible racehorse as well. She broke the glass ceiling and won the Breeder's Cup Sprint over a field of older males. As a daughter of Storm Cat, she has one of the most sought after pedigrees in the world. Small, clever, and quick, she won her first race as a two-year-old by an easy 5 1/2 lengths over a very well bred field. In only her second start, she captured the Grade-1 Frizette Stakes by 8 lengths. In the Breeder's Cup Juvenile Fillies, she broke the track record and won by 9 1/2 lengths. She was voted Eclipse Champion 2 Year Old Filly. The next year, she won the San Ysabel Stakes at Santa Anita Park. Her owner and trainer, Jade Conners, decided to try her brave filly against boys. In the Grade-1 Santa Anita Derby, she sprinted through the opening furlongs, facing three different colts in three seperate speed duels. Normally, a horse running this fast in a 1 1/8 mile race would tire out by the homestretch. Not so! Shetalkstoangels battled on, and beat the previously undefeated Two Year Old Champion Colt, Loki Flame, by a scant nose. The two would meet again in the Kentucky Derby. A filly hadn't won the Derby since Winning Colors in 1988, and Shetalkestoangels was determined to end the female slump. The entries of Shetalkstoangels and Loki Flame scared away a lot of other horses, leaving the Derby field with only 8 contestants. Right out of the gate, Shetalkstoangels sprinted away, which became her trademark running style. Her jocket was able to pull her back slightly, keeping her in third place until the second turn. Suddenly, things took a turn for the worse. A longshot by the name of Stealthebluehorse stumbled badly and went down in front of the gallant little filly, and in a desperate move, Shetalkstoangels veered to the outside, clipping heels with the leader, Jet-Ski, and nearly falling to her knees. She regained herself without missing a beat. She was so flawless in her movement that her jockey didn't even realize that she was injured. Now on the homestretch, the filly was running on three legs, and Loki Flame was flying up to the front of the pack. The jockey of Shetalkstoangels was frantically trying to pull her up, but she refused to forfeit the battle. With the bit in her teeth, she plunged forward, staring Loki Flame in the eye. The lanky chestnut colt towered over her, but the petite bay filly refused to back down. Loki Flame began pulling away, a sure winner, but suddenly, the filly did something she never should have done; she used her injured hind leg to propel herself forward in the final strides. It was a photo finish! The crowd had gone insane, but there was a tragic scene laid out on the track. A tiny filly was struggling to stand, her hind leg lifted from the ground. The results flashed onto the board as the vet van loaded the injured filly. She had won! Not only had she won, but she had broken Secretariat's unbelievable record of 1:59! However, the analysis of her leg was grim. She probably would have to be euthanized.

For days, the doctors operated on the fractured leg, and after prayers, hoping, wishing, and lots of skillful vets, the filly was saved. She would never race again, but would be suitable for riding and breeding with months of recooperation.

And now she was here. Her legacy on the track would live forever, and perhaps her foals could duplicate her success. The gorgeous Jade and the petite Angel were now the newest residents at Wyndcrest Farms.
