The Original Girl Scout Cookies from 1920

2 c. sugar 1/2 c. milk
1 c. Solid Shortening (Crisco) 2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. margarine 2 tsp. salt
3 large eggs 4 tsp. baking powder
5 c. flour

Cream sugar, shortening, margarine. Add eggs and mix. Add dry ingredients alternately with milk and vanilla. Roll on floured board 1/4 inch thick and cut with trefoil cookie cutters.
Bake at 375 degrees, 10 minutes. Makes 115
