Toffee Sauce
Makes about 1/2 cup

1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
6 tablespoons heavy whipping cream
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

In a medium saucepan, combine butter and brown sugar; bring to a boil over medium high heat. Stir in cream and vanilla. Reduce heat, and simmer 4 minutes. Allow to cool slightly before drizzling over cake, muffins, pie, or ice cream.
