Subject: FREEZER SLAW

Freezer Slaw

1 cup white vinegar
1 cup sugar
1 tablespoon tumeric
1 tablespoon mustard seed
1 tablespoon celery seed
salt and pepper to taste
Shredded cabbage
1 onion sliced thin
1 bell pepper sliced thin
Shredded carrots
Or you can substitute packaged slaw mix and add peppers carrots and onions

Heat vinegar, sugar and spices to boiling. While liquid is still hot, pour over shredded veggies. Toss to mix. Try to keep in fridge for 12 hours before eating (we never can wait that long). Keeps for weeks in fridge or you can even freeze and it will maintain its crunchiness.
Goes great with roasted meats/poultry. Good on burgers and hot dogs.
Great for potlucks or picnics: doesn't need to be kept cold and no mayonnaise to spoil.
