Mid Nov starts the sauger fishing at Pickwick. Colder nights and north winds drop the water temps fast. Even with the water temps at 60 degrees now. We are catching a few sauger. Most are short fish. But still fun to catch.
AS soon as the water hits 50 degrees or lower. The fish start stacking up at Pickwick dam. And the fun starts. There is times you can almost walk from boat to boat across the dead water there at the flood gates or between the old lock and the new lock.

Bet bait now is a 1 oz sauger jig tipped with a live minnow.
Limit on KY lake or below the dam at Pickwick is 10 fish that has to be 14" and above the dam there 15".

Best of luck fishing and be safe out there in the cold weather.

Had plans to go this am. But when I got up my body had other ideals. So I did not get out.
OOhh well let the water cool down a few more degrees then give it a try.
Filled the minnow tank up with water today. It will be ready tomorrow.
Filled it with 75 gallons of water I can keep 40-+ dozen minnows alive in it.
Pete

Did you build a bait tank for your boat?

I bought the tank its a 30 gallon tank. its I think 29" long 18" wide and 18" deep. Working on the filter now. Should have that finished by the weekend.
Took 4 dozen minnows out of it today that had been in there for 8 days and were still alive. I think I have lost 5 minnows in 8 days.,
