This was discussed on the outdoor channel a regional game warden said they were the same. Some were lighter in color because of the water they come from like a bass will be darker in one lake than another but a lot of people will argue with that like some thinks Elvis is still alive .There is no such thing is a white cat but you can call them what you like!!!!!

Well guess TWRA and a whole lot of people are wrong..
Check this site out. http://www.thecontentwell.com/Fish_Game/Catfish/White_Catfish.html

Also if you go to the ponds that rase fish for the markets. They are a white cat,. And when the floodwaters get over there ponds. Where do you think all of these fish go??
Into the rivers . Theres a place at pickwick that has and had there ponds stocked with these fish. Back in 1970's it flooded. And that is where I think ours come from.
We do catch a lot of White cats now. As they are different than blues.
But most people are calling the blues a white cat.

Thats my thoughts on this.
