I was fishing yellow creek last Monday (July 5) for bass (what can I say, I am not a catfish purist . . . I also sometimes fish for trout in AR)when I saw a guy pull up in a john boat to check what initially looked like a trot line. However, when he pulled up the buoy, it looked more like a marker for a net. It looked like the net was stretched over a 100- 150 feet in length but was only 2 feet high and probably placed near the bottom. Unfortunately, I could not get a good look as I was rather far away. He caught at least 3 or 4 fish out of the net which was stretched between two buoys. Is netting legal on Pickwick? Was he possibly a commercial fisherman? Does anyone have any insight into this?

Sounds like a gill net, And it is legal in Tn, But do not know about Ms.
Also these things do catch a lot of fish. So I would say that you would have to check with someone that knows the Ms regs.
Also i fish for Small mouth bass at times.
