The flood gates are shot off at Pickwick. They shut them off Tuesday evening.
So I went Sauger fishing yesterday. Caught between 15 and 20. Only had 5 that would keep. But it was fun to get out on the water and catch a few fish.
Water temp was 46 degrees.

But did not catch a sauger and did not see any being caught. But did catch about 20 white bass before getting tired of them and moving . Pete

White bass, Is what most people call a stripe. They do raise. And we catch them as fast as you can reel them in.
Your thinking of the strippers or rock-fish. But the strippers also raise here .

The White bass run starts about now. And gets better about march. It nothing to catch a few hundreds a day for each person. I throw them back. Way to many people getting tickets for having a hybrid fish that the wardens have to look in there mouth or ass to decide if its legal or not. So I do not keep them.
