Subject: Cats are dangerous

Three cats live in my home. Misty was outside so has no blame attached to him whatsoever.

Blaze hates Troy. Troy hates Blaze. They both adore me (wise cats).

Blaze knows when it is time for him to be put outside (to find Misty) and usually hides under the bed, so I have to pick him up and carry him downstairs past Troy to the back door.

On Monday night I decided to put Blaze out. He usually goes out a few minutes before Troy to give him time to run away. Troy was on guard beside the front door.

I went through the usual coaxing of an unwilling, stuborn cat from under the bed and picked Blaze up and carry him downstairs. Unbeknown to me Troy had decided to begin creeping up the stairs to see what was going on.

On the fourth step down, I felt some fur underfoot and realised where Troy was. My leg slipped and I twisted and stomped heavily down two steps onto the mid-point landing. Blaze thought he was going to fall and grabbed onto the nearest thing (my face) with his claws.

I went to hospital.

My leg isn't broken, but the ligament is badly strained.

My face was improved.

Both cats are fine.
