Secrets
Som secrets were meant to be kept

*****

The rocks around you are roughly hewn from the limestone that formed naturally thousands of years before the first wolf dare think to place its paws upon the soil. You ducked under the hanging of roots at the back of a wolf's den and find yourself sliding down a steep, wet, slope. You skid to a rough halt far below where you had entered, you pad forward cautiously as the cave becomes less finished off. Finally you step out onto a ledge and find yourself overwhelmed with the enormity of the cavern you have found yourself in. You look around and wonder where the dim light that illuminates the cavern is coming from, for now not a flame of human nature is present, but nonetheless forget the thought of finding it. You see stalactites and stalagmites all around, and small puddles of water gather every hundred or so yards. The caves you find yourself wandering reside partly beneath the lands of Camelot they were once Caverns of Camelot but when the keeper of the caves left those lands she caved in the entrance from those lands. Of yet they still remain the soul realm of one creature only. Here and there you can see traces of other passages, and then you see the alabaster wolf herself...

She is a tall wolf, lean and muscular, with deep blue eyes that pierce down to your very soul. She is the picture of her arctic ancestry. The years she spent fighting just to live another day show in the vague scars that lay under her thick fur and you see she is no stranger to a good fight. You look back at her and are strangely calm but you don't know why for she is an intimidating sight. She makes her way down to you, a friendly smile on her calcite maw.

"Welcome, am I Rylin, I suppose you found your way here through the back entrance in my den. Good job, I dare say no matter your alliance you are welcome here, mind though, given a single action I shall banish you from my realm. I will permit no fighting, these rocks will not be bathed with the blood of war as typical of humans, fore that we are not."

*Her voice is soft, and friendly but very seriouse, she sits down next to you and waits with a trained patience for you to speak. Old versus enscripted into the single lupine brain mean a painful past for some or for others a bright future, nonetheless you find the words coming to your cranium in the silence of the age old caverns.*
"Born of wild near rivers cold,
Give thee strength of nature old,
Never break thy nature's spell,
Fore it keeps the wolf from human's hell."

*You realize it had been Rylin who had said it, but she falls silent and looks expectantly at you, almost as if she had never spoken the poem in the first place.*
