the cells are locked by magic to prevent escape. the ones near the front are used as cells for sacrificials like me, and the ones in the back are used to hold beings that have been kiddnapped. oh, yes..... about my title.......

my father was the spirit of the flame, and my mother was the spirit of the emerald. but, they were both from different ends of the spiritual world. evil and light, if you will. the union of dark and light produces a neutral being with a life force as a creature rather than a spirit, so my magic ability is very limmited. my friend in the back...

... is called the spirit of size. hence, he is 2 beings in one. his larger self, and himself as a child. the elder has powers of darkness, and the child has powers of light. another reason that the cells are locked by magic, to prevent the use of what magic we have.

each lock is element orientated, and why i gave you that materia. it contains 'ice' and could break the hold on my cell. this cell is fire based. my friends is water. you could destroy both locks with ice.
