. absentmindedly, the tall, handsome elf trudges through the forest with a slow exhalation. his jaw is set in his naturally stern expression, the one adapted through his many years of being the eldest son of the king of mirkwood. responsibility had piled on his shoulders heavilly, and no relief had come for many, many years. he had found love, only to experience pain of the greatest sort. loss. loss, death. his broad shoulders hunching miserably, he settles his weary body on a nearby rock with his chin in his palms. and now what had he come to? he was home again, after his travels. here he had seen her first, here they had pronounced their love for eachother, and here he said goodbye. yet she died elsewhere. in his arms, when she followed him for loves bitter revenge. his past held painful memories, he could still remember her in this place.

so why would his travels always lead him back here?
