Why don't they understand?
I'm just trying to work things out
Just wanting to have a life
But they won't listen
They can't see the world the way I see it
They don't know what goes on in my mind
All they know is the outside
The fake smiles
The forced laughs
All of the conversations that make the world seem alright
But they can't see inside of me
They don't know what I'm feeling
Is there a cloud
Raining on their parade
Is it cloudy overhead or is this cloud just over me?
The rain is pouring down
My clothes drip with the weight of the water
But no one can feel it
No one can see it but me
I let them see the shiny exterior
The glowing smilewith gleaming teeth
They don't see this black cloud
Thats pouring down on my day
They don't see that my sky is no longer blue
Or that my heart and mind have been pulled in two
They don't see my struggling to climb out of this place
It holds me down
And I can't pull myself up
But the rain keep pouring down
Filling the well that I'm drowning in
It makes me wish I could swim
So I could get out of this place
Run from this black cloud
Just get away from this place
The water swells up around my head
One last breath and I'm under
Drowning in the unforgiven
Lapping for air thats not there
Drinking from the Nile's blood
I just want out of this place
