Author: Takk 'Cat-Kite' Squirrel
Subject: Bored.

Takk was digging for an acorn he had stowed in the fall, the ground was still half frozen, winter still reluctant to give up it's long reign on the land. Spring would prevail, though, it always had.
Takk twitched his tail in agitation, still unable to locate where exactly he had hidden it last time. Little did he know that Jin Bluejay had long since dug it up and made off with it.
Takk gave up after awhile, his nose quivering suddenly as he caught scent of a housecat.
To be exact, Sam the TabbyCat.
Sam was a very old cat, with only one yellow eye and a crooked tail. His coat was thin and left patches of skin exposed, his coat was the same color as his one eye. Yellow.
Takk squeaked at the thought of being caught by Sam and made his way up the nearest tree. And just in time for not ten seconds later Sam came prowling across the yard, his crooked tail held like a banner over the tall grass.
From the safety of the tree, Takk chattered down at the cat, cursing him and his kin in the many squirrel curses. Choosing all and leaving none untried.
Sam hissed, back arching at the squirrel, but of course, Takk paid the angry cat no more attention, after he was done cursing him, then he might a rotten nut, and that was most likely his downfall.
Sam hissed again, then almost smugly leapt at the tree, climbing straight up it slowly, but surely.
This caused Takk to squeak and race higher up the tree, he having not known Sam could climb as old as he was.
Well, despite his age, Sam had made it pretty far up the tree, leaving Takk with only one option.
Fly!
He drew courage from deep inside himself, then leapt and sailed through the air, landing on a tree branch of an entirely different tree.
He chattered his squirrel war cry, tail fluffing up proudly.
Sam hissed, then dropped to the ground, and sauntered off.
This was how Takk got his famous nickname:
Cat-Kite
