It is my pleasure to join your company today as the new principle owner and acting GM of the San Diego Padres. I do not come without knowledge of the baseball world, and am eager lead this franchise in only one direction- to the top. I hope to build on the foundation left by previous owner and establish a winning tradition in the city of San Diego. I have already had the pleasure of making some of your acquaintances, and expect to make the rest very soon. For those among you who do not know me, let me introduce myself. My name is Raza Panjwani and I am currently a freshman at Columbia University. You can reach me at mrp2104@columbia.edu, or via AIM – my screenname is ProfessorP52 for matters both baseball and not. As it stands, I will be heavily evaluating my team, its strengths, weaknesses, and needs, as well as assessing the competition and the ability of my team to compete immediately and in the future. While I will entertain offers, my position as a seller or a buyer in the current market is as of yet undetermined. I would like to note that I might not be available for a period of about a week in the near future (chalk it up to closed door meetings with my baseball people).
