Subject: It may be an insect bite ...
In reply to: debbie 's message, "sick squirrel? help please" on 17:42:07 04/03/08 Thu

(It may be an insect bite ...), a spider, or even a wasp/hornet. It's not likely that you'd be able to get much help, from a vet, even if you knew for sure what caused this acute attack - but you could call around, and see if there's a vet in your area that specialises in rodent companion animals. In the meantime, I would make an effort to vacuum his quarters - be careful, of course. I don't know if it's possible to treat your flyer for the bite, if that's what it is. Perhaps Benadril - but how to know if it would help, or harm, I really can't say. I highly recommend you post an inquiry at :
National Flying Squirrel Association Messageboard There may be someone there who can provide more information.

Hope this will prove to be a minor problem, and your flyer will be okay!!
