I went in to hold my little Pootie (in Zoe's memory) and love her but she wasn't in the mood for cuddling. I chased her around in her cage a little bit, she went into her nest and I stuck my hand in to coax / grab her and I got my fingers slapped for my effort. (sigh....) So much for emotional healing.....
