Well, Katie, he is a beautiful boy, other than his swollen eye. And what you describe, the sticking together, sounds like what children have that we call "pink eye", although I have not seen that kind of swelling with pink eye before. Questions: is he an only flyer? Is he around young children? Can you handle him easily? If so, get a q-tip and just dampen it with a dab of water, enough to make it easy to remove the infection that is "stringing" the eye closed--this may make it possible for you to see inside a bit better. (I never put anything in the eye that is not an opthalmic solution from my vet.) Do you have a vet that treats flyers? If so, I would take him, just so she can see if he has damaged the eye or pupil and perhaps a bit of infection has started and he needs some antibiotic salve or drops or medicine. Our babies are so small and things happen so quickly to them, so I probably would make a vet trip.
