(I agree with Joan ... and 'sides, there's really naught you can ...) do about the pup's situation, anyway. Any attempt at a prothesis would be immediately gnawed away. It's possible the 'stub' will develop something of a callus, to protect it. But even if it does not, the likelihood is the pup will be wise enough to not injure the tissue any further. Because flyers are so very light on their feet, it's likely the pup will just learn to move without touching the ground with the 'stub'. Hope you'll be successful in giving the pup a good home, with none of the dangers he'd face, in the 'natural' world, given his 'handicap'. Keep us posted!
