Ahhh, Horses! They can be the most wonderful, beutifull, animal you ever had or a total nightmare!! First of all you've got to love them and they HAVE to be in "your blood!!" If not, don't bother! I can't remember a time in my life I wasn't obsessed w/them!! Do to injuries I can no longer ride [even tho I still do, if I am riding one I know and trust]. Horses can not be "a teenage love" or a whim! You are talking;, more yearly shots than Carter has liver pills!! Tooth care, worming, grooming, the right fences, stable care, feeding expense!! Horses are accident prone; if theres trouble, they can get into it!! An older, more staid animal is probably your best bet, as a 1st timer!! Believe me, you want one that is, not only, trustworthy for you, but also knows how to stay out of trouble!! Ahhh, Horses, you got to love them: there is no more beutifull animal shot in slow-motion! The love of my life; and the cause of all my injuries!! There are a lot of adoption places to check into: Standardbreds make good 1st timers as they are trustworthy and have been through the works, so to speak!! We had a few, and they not only make good riders but you can also drive them, if you want!! Good Luck!!of your life >Well, I can tell you right Up front I am the wrong
