(IMHO, a daily liquid multivitamin with D3 in the water supply is ...) a must. I use L&M Animal Farms brand, and use it in the 'mice/gerbils' dose (one drop per ounce of water ....) I also give fruit and veggies, but still would not neglect the vit-enhanced water.

Rain does sound like a dear. I too have cats, but am in the happy situation that the cats do not have to be in my house. They have run of the basement - a 'walk out' type, with plenty of above grade windows, so it's not like they live in a dungeon ... and they're also allowed free access to the outdoors, during the daytime. If you cannot provide a cat free room, then you're wise to limit Rain to the bathroom, for exercise.
