Para Obtener el tama�o de un String utiliza la funcion:
int strlen(string str)

EJ:
$s = "CASA";
$a = strlen($s);
echo $a."\n";

Entonces: el Ltrim , en PHP es la funcion:
String ltrim (String str, [String charlist]);
String rtrim (String str, [String charlist]);
Este segundo parametro solo es soportado en PHP 4.1.0.
Este segundo parametro sirve para especificar el rango de caracteres que quieres quitar.
Recuerda que cuando un parametro esta entre [ ] es opcional.
