Sable filla,now a year of age,approached the two alongside her dam.Shrill call was give to the ivory one,tinged with playfulness and challenge.The day was bright and summer was in full swing.

Raven one nipped steed affectionatly,lobes swiveling as occulers were shifted to Magdalena,eyeing suspiciously for a moment then nudged midnight yearling.

Sable eyed the smaller ivory,seeming to size her up.The difference was amazing.Although both were of the same age,she had turned out to be quite larger than the other.Suddenly,lobes layed flat on poll and teeth were bared.With a squeal,youngster lept at the other,teeth grasping the skin of the neck,pinching it painfully.Pulling back,she let go,whirling 'round to release a powerful,purposely mis-aimed buck.Then eye caught Magdalena and play was ceased momentarily,blood-tinted orbs staring indignantly at the newcomer.
