First, position the sun where you want it.

Biggest factor in determining sky 'blueness' is the Simple Haze setting in Atmosphere panel. High haze factor equals chalky white low contrast skies, low haze factor equals deeper blue higher contrast skies. Turn haze down past the default 20% and the sky turns black near the zenith, 90 degrees straight up. A little darkness up top with rest of the sky a deep dark blue is my favorite sky type.

Orange streaks are caused by Light Decay/Red setting in Atmosphere panel. Reduce this to zero for a completely 'sunsetless' look.

This is assuming the colors (Edit colours... button) for haze, blue and decay are left at defaults, if you change them all bets are off :)
