The strange sound resonates again as Kain, Lunima, and Zahjohislip in from the tunnel that led off Darkpath. Lunima growls in soft agitation, a sound like the sliding of blade-from-scabbard, like a sword cutting into flesh. Kain's feathery ears lay back against her head; she too heard the sound, if not a strongly as her Ally did. Settling above the Fyhat's dark wings and with the deep blue Fyhk in her lap, the Khet was well aware of the general direction the sound comes from. The black-darksilver strangepoint stalks low along the dusty rises, moving toward the source of the blasting shrills. They grow nearer, itching Lunima's mind to near madness, yet she keeps silent. Lifting her dark head over one rise, the Allied pair gaze down in awe. There lay tents below, with humans scuttling about them. One stood, the closest to Zuugrith, blowing high-pitched keens that none of the humans could hear. Blinking, Kain contemplates on what she should do.
