MISS SPIRIT OF THE SOUTH & MISS TEEN SPIRIT OF THE SOUTH CASH PRIZE PAGEANT
This pageant is to assist contestants who need assistance paying pageant entry fees. The Miss and Teen Division will receive $1,000 cash and additional prizes. The cash prize may be used to pay entry fees to any pageant system or your educational endeavors. There is NO CONTESTANT ENTRY FEE. To request an application and pageant info please email or contact Director Mamie Jackson at jacksonfog@msn.com or (615) 799-1040
Due to high demand of pageant inquiries, I will accept a limited amount of contestants (first come first basis). I encourage you to apply ASAP. This will secure your placement.

Mary Helen Caver's photo's from the pageant are beautiful. Look and you will see why see why she won. My last post was deleated and all I said was MHC looked beautiful. But, when people say not such nice stuff it stays on and does not get deleated. Makes you wonder who run's this message board.

Hey Everyone!
I’ve been working with ladies in my area to prepare them for the upcoming pageant season. I have had many contestants ask me about when and where pageants will be held. I have decided to start an online pageant resource center called The Pageant Network.
Please visit the website. If you know of a pageant on the local, state, national, or international level, send the information asked for on the contact page. I will be happy to add it. If you are a director or vendor, email me if you are interested in placing an ad on the home page. My goal is to have a board where pageants and thoughts can be expressed but only constructive critique is offered, no bashing. It would be so nice to get on these boards every once in a while and hear good things about the winners. I wasn't able to attend the pageant but from what I know about the new winners, we should be very proud. Stephanie Smith will be a wonderful representative for our state and could take the whole thing. From looking at her pictures she looked amazing. She's got the it factor! And Mary Helen Caver is as pretty of a teen that I've seen. She could also do very well at Teen USA. The pageant is over and nothing can be done now so let's all get behind our winners and support them.

- I think that the final interview on stage should really make a difference in the placement of a contestant. I do not care if a girl is drop dead gorgeous, I would not want her to represent SC if she cannot speak with class and intelligence. Some of the girls sounded great and some did not. I also think the little Dunlap girl could work hard on herself and come back again as well as Emily Huitt who is very pretty. - Overall, enjoyed the show last night. Loved the stage and loved it went off without a hitch. I thought the girls were beautiful and the only complaint is one of the contestants family and friends sat near me and they were bashing the other contestants loud enough to be heard by others. People need to be mindful that these girls have families in the audience and they need to respect that. Amy Caver was a disapointment, very messy looking/harsh, didnt understand her placement at all, Brittney Price was a pleasant surprise, proved she is not a teen anymore, Rachel M was a surprise, very pretty. In your oppinion, what is the best dress color to wear in a pageant? I know it must compliment the skin tone, but what are the better colors to wear? And what is the best way to wear the hair....Pageant shoes...should they be high and with rhinestones or just plain and what is too high? I have seen some tall pageant shoes...look too tall and hard to walk in.
Can someone give me some pointers?

- Wear a gown that makes you feel beautiful. Shoes are usually 4 to 5 " clear heals, sometimes higher if girl is very petite. Chose a shoe that will not distract from the gown. Most I have seen go with the clear "stripper" shoes. (NT) -- Hey, they work!, Wed, Jun 04 2008, 21:14:23
- I think there are really many colors to choose from and some that do not appear as good under stage lighting. However the other posters are right by saying it must compliment you regardless. Take into consideration your eye color, hair color, depth of skin tone and whether you are a cool or warm undertone in your skin. This will help you decide what colors look best and then you can select from there. The most obvious colors we see in miss pageants are the standard black and whites but there are so many beautiful colors to choose from. Always take a friend with you to get a second opinion as well. As for heels, I always suggest going with something you are comfortable walking in. Do not wear the 6" clear heels if you feel uncomfortable in them as it will hinder you in gown during presentation. - Just found out the pageant is this weekend and went to check out the headshots for the miss contestants and post who caught my eye. My top 5 in abc order are: Amy Caver, Brooke Eaves, Jordan Fish, Clark Gilmore & Courtenay McIlvaine. Btw, I have never seen any of the 5 in person, just based off the headshots. The fabric looked like white jersey to me. Similar to Anna Hanks and Sarah Medley's. Classic, very elegant. But you would have to really know fashion to grasp that concept. The girl is amazing and so was the gown. Red carpet style gown. Some women, like Rachel, are so stunning that they don't need all the glam trashing up the clean look.
