Subject: Arrival

Shane stood waiting in the early morning cold on the yard, wrapped up to the eyeballs in his new puffa jacket. Solicitor and Sand storm were due to arrive any minute now. Shane heard a rumble from the road, the horse box arriving. Shane crunched over the gravel as the lorry pulled up. The driver, his father's under groom, jumped out. "Alright Shane, here they are for you." He said in a pronounced Irish accent. Shane smiled as he began to pull down the large door. "Hello." He said to a warm welcoming whinney. His Dun pony mare and dark bay stallion pricked their ears at him.

Shane settled them into loose boxes next to each other, which he had alrady prepared for them. He patted them and stroked them until they were relaxed enough the snatch at the hay nets. At this point Shane left them. He was starving and wanted his breakfast.
