Author: Foreigner
Subject: [ - Beauty is often double-edged, and deadly - ]

Christened - - Lady Rosalind fa Tusaine; is seldom addressed by this title, prefers simply Rosalind.

Witnessed - - Seventeen long years have thus come to pass since the night of her birth.

Horoscope - - Aquarius (Jan. 20 to Feb. 17)
- - Aquarians basically possess strong and attractive personalities. They fall into two principle types: one shy, sensitive, gentle and patient; the other exuberant, lively and exhibitionist, sometimes hiding the considerable depths of their character under a cloak of frivolity. Both types are strong willed and forceful in their different ways and have strong convictions, though as they seek truth above all things, they are usually honest enough to change their opinions, however firmly held, if evidence comes to light which persuades them that they have been mistaken. They have a breadth of vision that brings diverse factors into a whole, and can see both sides of an argument without shilly-shallying as to which side to take. Consequently they are unprejudiced and tolerant of other points of view. This is because they can see the validity of the argument, even if they do not accept it themselves. Both types are humane, frank, serious minded, genial, refined, sometimes ethereal, and idealistic, though this last quality is tempered with a sensible practicality. They are quick, active and persevering without being self-assertive, and express themselves with reason, moderation and sometimes, a dry humour. They are nearly always intelligent, concise, clear and logical. Many are strongly imaginative and psychically intuitive. When some cause or work inspires them, they are capable of such devotion to it that they may drive themselves to the point of exhaustion and even risk injuring their health. They appreciate opportunities for meditation or, if they are religious, of retreats. Even in company they are fiercely independent, refusing to follow the crowd. In spite of the often intensely magnetic, forthcoming and open personality of the more extrovert kind of Aquarian, and of their desire to help humanity, neither type makes friends easily. They do not give themselves easily - perhaps their judgment of human nature is too good for that - and are sometimes accounted cold. But once they decide that someone is worthy of their friendship or love, they can exert an almost hypnotic and irresistible mental attraction on them and will themselves become tenacious friends or lovers, ready to sacrifice everything for their partners and be faithful to them for life. Simmering anger and resentment, rudeness or, worse, a tense, threatening silence which may suddenly burst out in eruptions of extreme temper, these are all part of the negative side of the Aquarian.

Likes - - Having Fun, Good companions, Thinking of the Past, Dreaming and Planning for the Future, Fighting for Causes.

Dislikes - - Full of Air Promises, Excessive Loneliness, The Ordinary, Imitations, Idealistic.

Disguise - - A respectable 5’8 inches, taller than most girls her age. She has a slight build, weighing just over 105 pounds, but is not athletically burdened. Her unruly auburn hair is seldom tied up, but instead Rosalind prefers to let it hang loose, falling halfway down her back. She has bright green eyes, and freckles. (Sounds Irish, doesn’t she?

Psychic Abilities - - Rosalind is capable of magnetic healing (the transfer of the universal life force through touch or passes of the hand.) The energy transfer is often accompanied by such sensations as heat, tingling, electrical shock, or impressions of colour. The healer, who becomes a passive conduit for the healing energies, may feel something of the consistency of heavy air leaving him or her, usually through the hands. The patient often feels an infusion of energy. Both patient and healer must be able to relax. The healing occurs only when they tune into each other, becoming one in a transference of energy. A Healer who tries too hard is unlikely to succeed. Rosalind is a gifted healer, meaning that she developed this power early in life along with physic abilities (her clairvoyance enables her to see the body’s energy field and detect disturbances caused, or related to disease/illness.) With practise she refined these techniques, and under the careful guidance of another healer, became a Master.

Past - - Her past is a mystery, shrouded in a veil of fog. We know only the barest of details; that she was born and raised in Tusaine, the daughter of a wealthy noble. Rosalind’s mother was a frail woman, pale and sickly. Custom demanded that girls be wed once they reached a certain age, she was twenty-one going on twenty-two when she first become impregnated with Rosalind. The labour was a difficult one, her mother died shortly afterwards, exhausted from the strain of pushing. Despite the physician’s best efforts in trying to convince her father that it had been due to medical complications, he would not be persuaded into thinking otherwise. He swore that she was possessed by the devil, a curse brought upon their family for reasons unknown. Believing that he was in the right, she was auctioned off on the black market, sold as a slave. It is here that the narrative stops, we are still unsure of what horrors unfold during this time period. When the story does pick-up again, she is safe in the house of a peasant woman. Ms. Cuthbert was the village spinster, having been in love but never married. Their relationship was at best unique; she literally became her daughter and was treated accordingly. It was under her that Rosalind learned the art of magnetic healing, and under her she learnt a great many other things. Times were peaceful then, both in high spirits, wanting nothing more than to be in each other’s company. But, like all good things it was not to last forever. Ms. Cuthbert bid Rosalind go to market one day, before the noon-hour rush. Winter was close at hand and supplies were needed, but she was unable to go herself, being bed laden. It was such an appalling sight that met her return that the memory still haunts her till this day, though it has subsided to a dull ache, and only now and then does it flare up. A band of raiders had ridden by, obviously in need of some excitement. They stormed her house, lighting it on fire, destroyed the furniture, and butchered the animals and Ms. Cuthbert. Disgusted and far beyond thinking straight, Rosalind gathered her belongings, after having given her ‘mother’ a proper funeral, and rode off oblivious as to where her travels would lead. Unfortunately there was no minister to be had. Eventually, after a year or two of moving around she decided to settle down, coming here to start life anew.
