The government is run by gits.

The whole trouble started about 15 years ago. The government was kinda worried about population overgrowth so they clamped down on baby-making. They weren't as nuts as the Chinese in China with their 1 child or we kill your next baby policies, but they did put a lot of barriers in place, like making it tought for the 3rd kid to get into school and other stupid things like that.

Fast forward 10 years down the road. The population is retarded. The aging demographic is at a high coz they made babies before that stupid policy, but the next gen's rather low coz of the 2 kids policy from the 80's. What's making things worse is that cost of living is astronoical here. daily costs are fine, but larger thingslike housing and cars and such cost a bomb, and by the time the avergae guy is able to afford stuff like that he's usually 40. So marriage gets pushed back coz the of earning problems.

Meanwhile, liberated women everywhere want to start on their careers and end up marrying later as well.

And even more meanwhile, those who do get married put off having kids coz it takes 2 full time jobs to pay for the house and the car, so the couple end up working with no time for babies.

Basically it all results in a drastic percentage of the population not having enough babies.

So the stupid government, with their amazingly in-depth understanding of the problem, comes up with hare-brained schemes to try and alleviate this problem. They offer MONEY to people who have kids. they offer vacations, They offer all kinds of bullcrap.

In the meantime, taxes go up, unemployment goes up thanks to those damn terrorists, and transport fares go up. And all kinds of sex except for vaginal penetration is completely Illegal. And so is porn. But prostition isn't.

What geniuses run my country!
