He moves with a hunter's silence, not wanting to disturb Hala and Rashi. In fact, he doesn't want them to see him at all; he's just here for his bow and arrows, which he had left right inside the door. He had made snares of all his string, and needs something else to do. But when he steps through the door, he sees the girl in front of him that had been hidden in darkness when he looked in from the light oustide. He is about to step back out before she sees him, but then hears her question.
"Hala --the leader-- is sick," he says, not realizing that the sudden sound of his low voice from behind may scare her.
"The First Shaman is taking care of her, but she can't answer any questions right now. She needs rest, and you don't want to disturb her with Rashi around. Trust me."
