Mr. Rogers died yesterday -

For those outside the States, he had a kids' show that ran from 1968-2000. I was too old to have watched it as a child, but as a teenager and young adult - I really enjoyed his simple, kind messages and the really calm, soothing atmosphere the show created.

My daughter watched the show for a few years when she was young and she can still sing "It's a lovely day in the neighborhood." I think he is a genuine hero in this really screwed-up world, and I will miss him.
