Subject: A true M.E.Ch.A.

I AM SO PROUD THAT I AM A MEChistA and I am glad that I joined this Movimiento(Movement). Yet, I have been told that someone in the elections meeting made negative comments on my person. I really don't care on who said what or why he/she said what was said. Honestly, I really think that in order to be true to our philosophy and constitution we need to analyze and question what happened on what was supposed to be our last meeting. We should not let this incident divide us like prior incidents have. My knowledge of M.E.Ch.A. grows every day, specially days I am at Central and Regional meetings and after coming back from Spring 2002 Statewide I have realized that we are focusing too much energy on personal problems and forgetting that we are an organization that is recognized and admired for our emphasis of Unidad(UNITY). To be selfish within this organization is a contradiction and I believe that I am not selfish nor a little angel, like everyone I have to admit I have flaws. My goal as I became Regional Representative (External Officer) was to get M.E.Ch.A. de Mt.SAC to be acknowledged and respected within our Central, Region and State. Slowly, we are gaining some gorund but a lot of work still needs to be done. Whatever took place during elections was unfair and unconstitutional and it is sad that so many ideas and energy have to be set aside or wasted to make things right. In order for the situation to change we need to set aside our pesonal problems and OUR egos and focus o what we want and need to become as a chapter.
