I was reading the independant yesterday and there is to be program on bbc 2 next week about the generation of teachers who had to stop hitting students over night when the law changed and teachers were no longer allowed to hit the misbehaved members of their class.I could not believe my eyes when i saw one of them being interviewed was none other than Mr Newman!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The article says "John Newman who taught at a grammar school for 3 decades tells storys of board rubbers smashing windows that were aimed at the heads of disobediant students and drugs to help him to keep his old habits at bay after the ban." Its on this tuesday on bb2!
