I think this board is better too....

I thought that you have doves....and was wondering about three nests that are in our backyard. I love birds..but these guys are making my yardwork extremly hard!! We have three nests...actually there are two in the front yard and one in the backyard. All we hear outside all day long is "coo coo coo"...is that why they call them mourning? It sounds sad...but so calming at the same time. One nest is in a hedge along our driveway...one is at the upper crook of our rainspout way up high....and one im really weary of, we have a wooden dog-eared fence around the backyard..and she has chosen to perch on a ground post positioned in the inner corner where two sides meet. It was so windy out there yesterday and the wind would lift her little body off the nest at times. I wouldnt dare move the nest or anything like that.....she seems to be a very good mother to the eggs...thought I saw two. The place she sits is like 6 inx 6in....and about a handful of dried grass laying on top the post. There is no shelter for her and no "dip" in the middle like most nests. She is just right out there in the open. LOL Like I said...she is making it difficult for me to do yardwork. =)

What do you think will happen when these hatch...they cant possibly be safe sitting on a 5 1/2 flat surface with no walls and no concave surface to sit. Lets hope my main coon kitty "Poo Poo" doesnt see them!
The male sits atop our roof and coos all day long. The other two nests in front...seem to be occupied by "phantom" mothers.....you can hear..but not see them. lol

thanks
