Many times growing up I heard the story of the relentless sideways rain that held my humble beginings in this world captive within the confines of a small South Jersey hospital. My mother's suitcase was dumped out, I was dumped in and whisked to the safety of the car. The rest is (43 years of) history.

The local meteorologist refered to the last time we saw Charley's unusual (though still only projected) path.... it was Donna!
It was September 1960!
It was "My" hurricane!

With very little effort I found a lot of detailed information and some amazing pictures of this one of the truly unique storms in history.

One of the truly terrible storms of history. My storm.

Today, Charley knocks at Donna's door while I look on with a whole new perspective. Now I live in Central Florida on the Space Coast and saw what Andrew had in store for us. I've heard the warnings that we are overdue for the wrath of another violent storm.

I hope we haven't forgotten the danger.
The world is alive.
