Dear Crystal,
I feel honored that you come to me to help you answer your questions. Let's deal with one question at a time. First, your boyfriend not being the same faith of you is not that big of a problem, but it becomes a problem when he belittles your faith in even a small way. I understand that Wicca is not as widely accepted at it can be, but no one's faith should be taken lightly. Obviously this boy means a lot to you, if his comments on your faith bother you. I would try at a sincere attempt to explain what it is you believe and why it means so much to you, but most importantly that it is not silly. You follow a very old faith one that gave birth to all other faiths, and that is in no way "silly."
One important thing to remember when speaking on magick is that it does follow nature, and eventually your boyfriend and grandmother will both be well again. I am sure neither one of them would object to you praying for them, and simple healing spells are nothing more than praying with props. It is wrong to place a spell on someone that goes against their own free will, i.e. a love spell, but I am certain the sick loved ones in your life wish to be well. Since you do not want to involve either in the spell physically, I would use a simple candle spell.
Perhaps use a blue or green candle (one for each you do not want to mix their engergies) and engrave on to it some healing words or symbols, and make each one personal to the person you wish to heal by placing their intitials or a symbol representing him or her. Then into each candle focus healing energy through the love and compassion you have for them. Make sure not too give too much of yourself by calling on the Divine to aid you and add engergies. Say some healing words. Then let each candle burn down without any interruption in the process, once the candle burns down imagine that all the healing power from the candle has disapated into the sick loved one. (always cast a circle while doing acts of magick).
The most important act of magick you can give a loved one is some tender loving care.
Quick spell: prepare soup for the sick one (canned is fine) and while stirring the soup clockwise imagine healing powers going into the soup, and before serving draw a pentagram over the soup (not in it).
Okay hope that helps you.
~Here is a quote from John Michael Greer that I follow. "It's almost always a bad idea to do things to other people by magic that you wouldn't wish someone to do to you."
