1 Peter 3:12 For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.
As we contemplate the recent rulings from our Supreme Court many of us feel as if the world is coming apart at the seams. The foundational law of our land has been preempted by the highest court in this land. Legislating from the bench the wishes of the most corrupt president in our history. As we see more and more of our freedoms taken we wonder how long before it is decreed we cannot worship in the name of Jesus Christ. Already chaplains are being booted from the military for praying and witnessing in the name of Jesus. Who, pray tell, are they supposed to pray in the name of? They are Christian ministers. Are they going to be forced to pray in the name of the pagan god Allah?
Never before have we seen such an attack on our belief, faith and values. We would do well to contemplate the verse above as we sadly weigh the way things are going. The gist of the verse is simply "God sees us and hears us". We are not to lose faith nor give up. It is a time to pray harder and stand more stedfast in the face of this adversity. We are not to give in to the pressures that are directed against us from government and the homosexual community. We should resolve to resist this godless tyranny to the utmost of our ability knowing this. If we take God's side then God is on our side. We win and they lose. "The face of the Lord is against them that do evil." I would rather stand with God against the world than to stand with the world against God.
1 Peter 3:13 And who is he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good? "If God be for us who can be against us?" (Rom. 8:31) Matthew 10:28 "And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell."
But and if ye suffer for righteousness' sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled; "1 Peter 3:14"
Folks, our forefathers did not escape persecution. Thousands, (if not millions) today are under persecution. Jesus forewarned us that the world would hate and persecute us. Why should we not expect it or be surprised when it does come.
May we all resolve to stand fast and resist to the utmost this evil which is on us. God will be our help and our peace. God is our strength. Let us commit ourselves to Him that He will see our stedfastness and resolve to serve Him and Him alone.
Luke 20:25 And he said unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which be Caesar's, and unto God the things which be God's.
The things of God are not the governments and I for one do not plan to give what I owe God to this godless government.
