We have been to Kos twice in the last few years, and really enjoyed it. We stayed in Kefalos, hired a car, and went to Magic Beach most of the time. It is a lovely quiet beach right at the end of the more populated areas. From the last section of sunbeds, where both nudes and textiles are customers, it is possible to walk naked for over a mile in an Easterly direction, before approaching an All Inclusive monstrosity. If you prefer to lie on the sand there is acres of beach for you to chose from (just not in front of the sunbeds, the guy who looks after them will move you on).

We took a trip to Tigaki, on the north coast, and we were very glad that we were where we were!. Not our cup of tea at all, but it was obviously popular with many others.

All in all we loved it. There were lots of places to go (in a car) but not a lot without. To get to Magic Beach would be too far to walk, and I suspect to cycle too, especially in the heat.

We travelled independently - Ryan Air from Liverpool, and stayed at the Level Houses, just a few units run by the owners, and we loved them. Highly recommended.

Have fun.
