Subject: Green Blades

Alone the Egyptian Arabian enters the territory casually. Flea-bitten gray coat displayed he was not a young Equine. But for his breed he had yet to even prime. He knew he would be lucky to hit his prime if he were attacked again. Scratched and bites scattered all over his slightly underweight body were on their road to healing thanks to a unicorn. He looked around the land quietly ears pushed foreword looking and listening for a few minutes. After calm and sure nothing was gong to run out and eat him he relaxed. Extending his left front hoof his head lowered slowly to the ground still aware of his surroundings. Dark gray lips touch the soft green blades before parting and letting the teeth break them away from their mother the earth. The Arabians dark brown eyes slowly disappear under his lids savoring the taste of the blades. It had been a while since he had gotten the foliage he needed and so peacefully. Lids lift again revealing his deep brown eyes which hid many terrors and few joys. He grazed quietly alone except for his grass blades which to him right now was enough to keep him happy.

Painted shadow approaches quietly, curiosity in dark optics as scared coat is noted in ashen brute. Concern flickers for a moment before it is brushed away, greet called.

[> [> The Equine Voice -- Krisaad, 07:06:39 06/20/02 Thu (152.163.195.197)

A freckled ear twitched positioned towards the mare. He didn't lift his head for he thought she wouldn't stop. Concentration on his teeth he didn't notice she hadn't moved on. He looked at her shadow head shot up quickly. Fore hooves coming from their relaxed grazing position and land side by side. He snorted loudly seeing it was one of his kind and not some dreaded shadow monster. Body was still tense standing very upright making him seem taller than he was. Muscle seeping from his large shoulders through his not so perfect coat. He relaxed after a while Head lowered a bit he watched the mare for a moment. "Hello." He finally said.

"A jittery one you are."
Slight smile as painted doe steps closer, silken tresses flicker as playfull nip is placed 'pon his shoulder, just to see if he would jump.

Egyptian snorted at her comment. Jittery? No. On his toes was more like it. Hoof of the nipped shoulder lifted then put down with slight pressure denting the earths surface. He had not met many of his kind where he was. It was only insticts that guide him. Head and neck extend gentle nip returned to the mare. Head slid back towards chest in Arabian fashion feeling his own energy build within.

"Tis natural, I have met many few of 'our' kind as of late. We are spread out and to meet anywhere is all a game of chance."
Slightly annoyed as statement is made, painted vagrant had traveled far and wide. She knew.

Deep brown eyes scan the land he had chosen to graze upon noticing the lack of life. Turning back to the mare he spoke once again. "Does not seem natural. Spread out and away from others. Not natural at all. Almost unbalancing." He snorted nipping at his own shouler to rid of a pesky insect that decide he was a good perch. "Do you have a name?" He asks returning to look at her as the pest flew off.

"Avalon is a beautiful name. Krisaad was what the people called me, Kris is what the peoples children called me." Said the freckled one. He watched her for a moment just noticing the different tones in her coat. "Why do you stay alone? Is it choice?" He had already answered the 2nd question in his mind but he did not want to be one to assume.

"For one who may not be so alone your very good at hiding it." He said glancing around the specific plot of land called a territory. Looking back at her silence captured his voice. Conversation was still a new born tool. He had not use it much in the past. He finally spoke up again curiosity splashing about in his brain which quickly flowed and formed into speech. "Where are you from?" He asked wondering about past life and heritage.

People? She wondered what he was talking about, but with stallions, you never know. "I pray that you are aware of how many questions you ask." Milksoppy sighed for dramatic effect and changed her attention to the painted mare. "Are you ill?"

Long typical Arabian mane was tossed about the flea-bitten gray ones lone neck as to shake away blood thirsty pests. "I am aware of the many questions I ask. But if I did not ask questions you would have walked away by now." Pausing for a moment he realized her attempt to escape from answering. "You have not answered my recent question either." With that said head turned to the painted mare looking for any physical illness. He did not notice anything about her that seemed ill besides the fact she was not as happy as he thought she could be.

So many expressions slip by unnoticed. A shrill scream of fear beat adrenaline from listening eardrums, and a glance would reveal the little donkey rearing and whilring in fear. "SNAKE!" She screamed, taking off like a bullet across the field.

Light colored hoof lifted from the land at the Donkeys alarm. Large muscles tense under the scratched and bitten coat. A glance to the ground revealed something wiggling. A small jump back and a better view of the feared creature. A large dirty covered wormed climbing to the surface. Petrified with all the stamping the haunting creature squirmed back into its hole. The 'snake' had left and the Arab became calm again looking at the fleeing brave one. She had flown so far his voice could not travel to stop her. Hind hooves pick up the Equines weight and propel it forward. Body left the earth for a quick moment until gravity found its way home. Front hooves crash into the earth pushing the Arabian closer and closer to the scared Equine. Ears paretically held back for less wind resistance. Catching up to the other he kept on past her. After a bit in front of her body hopped and bounced to a halt itself from the speed. Larger flea-bitten one placed himself in front of her path in hopes to stop her. Placing enough space between him and her full speed he hoped she would have enough time to cease her out of control movement.

Milksoppy snorted and broke into a trot. Her donkey gallop wasn't all that fast. She trotted past the Arab and pranced around him in a circle, holding her head up high. "I just wanted to see if you would be scared. I wasn't scared, there wasn't even a snake, if you saw one that was your imagination. If there was one I wouldn't be scared." She pinned her ears, as if to prove her point. "You were scared though! Ha you are a coward." The jennet wrinkled up her nose and thretened Krisaad, then with a flick of her tail she turned away to graze and pretended that she had lost interest.

Exotice Egyptian head turned as the Donkey gloated about childish games in a circle around his light colored figure. Deep brown eyes turned away from the large eared annoyance watched the two toned mare get on with life. Attention turned back to the small gray one. "Yes I was scared. Snakes are dangerous and sometimes can cause death. The one I met almost did." Voice ceased for a moment for attention to flow back to where the wildly colored mare once was. Attention turned back to the one who grazed again. "Now the other one has left because of your pranks. I was foolish enough to think you needed help. Why are you like this to me? What did I do you make you want to harm me emotionally?" The dark eyes faded dulling. He was not one to get mad but he was one to be buised with constant poking.

Amid the sudden flurry of activity, painted one remains still, slow glance cast from flee duo to the return of dreaded serpent. Watch as creature slithers away among emrald green to find a quieter spot to sun. Glance towards pair once more 'afore two-toned fades away...

A dull gray creature broke from the timber line with heavy steps of unhappiness. She resembled an equine, though the beautiful features of the species had been denied. Huge ears hung heavy to the sides in a pouting manner, but the jennet drew them back and laid them on her skull at the sight of the others. Her little black muzzle wrinkled up and she rammed into the flea-bitten, a swish of her lion-like tail saying "move."

[> [> Movement -- Krisaad, 20:18:48 06/23/02 Sun (152.163.195.194)

The faded Arabian watched the Equine type approach with soft eyes. He had not seen anything like her but was not frightened. She was different but she still seemed to have the same basic features and emotions of a horse. Head and neck extend out to sniff her. He noticed she wasn't stopping and head pulled back to former position. Bump threw the Egyptian off balance slightly not expecting such rude gestures. Step to the side from unbalancing crash and step back to get out of way of the large eared one was made. "What is wrong?" He asked the Equine like creature.

The donkey slowed to almost a halt, with a look of suprise on her face that was quickly replaced with a look of annoyance. "You were in my way." She halted neatly and turned only her head to look back at him, "It looks as if you get in the way a lot." A rude comment, as always, and a passing thought about what his cheesy name would be. She turns her head forward again, facing away from him, then continues her walk with little pony-like steps.

[> [> [> [> Suppose -- Krisaad, 20:36:56 06/23/02 Sun (152.163.195.194)

Large flea-bitten chest slightly darkened from the sweat heat had formed. He watched her walk away with harsh words. But did not let them go alone. "I did not know you wished to pass through me. I suppose I do get in the way." He paused for a moment quiet watching her take small steps away. "Before you leave in anger and annoyance may I know your name?"

The gray one slowed noticeably at his first words, about to turn her head with a look of pity on her expression. At least he was blessed with beauty, but the brains had been left out ... as with most Arabs. I guess we are all cursed somehow.

She quickly looks ahead of her, focusing an ear on him. In response to his inquiry of her name, she snaps an answer back and quickens her pace. "No."

He watched her pace quicken as she gave the short answer. No he was not the most intelligent of creatures but he was not stupid and he did know a lie like such when he heard it. Forelegs turn about the haunches facing more towards the moving animal. "No name? But surely your Mother had given you a name. Possibly one she would call you with to keep you out of danger. We all have names if the most simplist and unoriginal it is a name we were once called by."

Milksoppy turned again to look at him, sure to make it obvious that she was annoyed. She stood there, blinking and staring at him, but not saying anything. "If I needed to be kept out of danger, my Mother would bray and not call out a meaningless word that was assigned to me under the category name. My companions gave me the title of Milksoppy The Courageless, which is the closes to a name I have owned." She talked rudely, exaggerating words to make her point more dramatic, but careful not to sound like she cared too much. "And don't you even think I am not brave. I will tear off your deformed Egyptian nose without a second thought."

[> [> [> [> [> [> [> [> Bravery -- Krisaad, 12:13:17 06/24/02 Mon (205.188.192.56)

Middle aged equine noticed the levels of annoyance but that did not make him stop from communicating. "If my Mother wished to keep me out of danger she would neigh. But that neigh was my name. As to not confuse others." He said simply. "Your companions did not sound like the best is that why you take it out on others who do not wish you bring you harm?" Light snort of warm air came softly from the Arabs dark gray nose. He did not appreciate her attitude but he did understand others have their reasons. "It didn't even come to mind for me to call you pointless names. But bravery is not to harm others because of rude names. Bravery is to stand up to those who do call you rude names and show them you are not shaken by the name they wish to make you fall with."

Sbe looked at the Arab like he was a bright pink elephant balancing on its trunk. "Is that what you think?" She opened her mouth in a big yawn, then stretched out her nose and shook herself free of dust and insects, looking at him to see if he was watching. "Did your mother call you anything besides Neigh?"

Specially sculpted head lifted away from insects as he wanted them as much as she did. Head placed in former position he watched he. He did not know why she acted the way she did. Perhaps past? Perhaps just the way she wished to be? He did not know and he may never. "My Mom called my Colt Two. But only until the people figured a more suited name. Which they did. They called me Krisaad. But the peoples children liked to call me Kris." Slight sadness dripped upon the grays face talking about the people. He changes the subject soon after. "Since you made me move do you have a specific destination?"
