get-out-of-my-way-because-if-it's-not-nailed-down-I'm-eating-it. I would type it all in caps but that makes it necessary to speak slower. YEEEEOOOWWWWW!

OK, here are my coping strategies; hopefully some of them will help you.

1) Chewing gum helps. Keeps your mouth busy.

2) Water is the last thing you're interested in when you've got PMS; drink more of it.

3) NO CAFFEINE OF ANY KIND!!!!! actually can make you hungrier, so be sleepy and a bit groggy for a day or so, but really try to do without.

4) Pick a crunchy or chewy veggie that's portable (and it helps if you like it too [;-)]), and keep containers of it handy for whenever the urge strikes. If you feel like plain veggies are going to send you through the roof, make some non-fat yogurt dip to go with: non-fat plain yogurt, any spices your creative little heart desires (try cardomom and cumin for an indian flavor) and some minced onion and/or tomatoes for a little variety. You can do fruit instead and add a tiny bit of honey to the yogurt if you need it to be sweeter. (try a combination of cardomom, nutmeg and mace with peaches - yummy)

4) Go for a walk. Honest to God, it really helps.

5) Last, and most important, DO NOT PUNISH YOURSELF FOR WHAT YOUR HORMONES DO TO YOU! So you eat a bit more one week out of the month - it won't kill you, but making yourself feel bad about your "lack of self control" when the point is that your hormones are beyond your control no matter what you tell yourself, will only make it worse and harder to get past. Take a hot bath, read a good book, tell yourself that you're gorgeous (AND MEAN IT!) and go on.
