Subject: Berjaya Beach

I'm going to Redang (staying at Berjaya Beach) in early april (staying for aproximately 7 days) and I've got a few questions regarding my visit.

Like I said, I'll be staying at Berjaya for almost a whole week, and since diving isn't exactly my cup o' tea I wonder if I will get bored to death due to lack of other things to do?
(I am planing to get a diving licens anyway, but mostly beacause that's what my better half wants.)

I've also understand that Berjaya is quite isolated from the rest of the island. Is the "road" between Pasir Panjang too hard to trekk on your own? (if not; is the rest of the island even worth checking out?)

And one last thing; (please bare with me) What about the construction going on right now? Will I be living next door to bulldozers and huge diggers, or is the construction not that disturbing?(of course the travel agency didn't mention any of this when I booked the hotel. @#¤!)

Thanks for a great page.

best regards

/nemo

Berjaya is isolated and they do not encourage you to venture outside. The "road" between
>Pasir Panjang is not too hard to trekk on your own as there is a Tar road.Anyway, do be careful if you are swimming at the Berjaya Redang Resort, eventhough it is not facing the South China Sea, it has one of the worst undercurrent sea. Just today,YES today. 13th Nov, a young girl drowned at the Berjaya Beach Resort! And guess what, there wasn't a life guard around! It was the guest who had to try to save the poor girl. The Life guard only came later....wait, i think it was the maintenance pool man who came. (Wonder if they will get a law suit for this) Talk about 5 star quality and security. Oh yes, the food sucks too and the charges exorbitant!

Anyway,do enjoy yourself at redang.( and stay out of the Sea, stick to their pool, well at least you know you will come back alive...............)
