Subject: British killed in Redang

Anyone has any idea whether the accident site was at Pasir Panjang beach? Please be really careful if you are diving or snorkelling at high boat traffic area.

KUALA TERENGGANU, Malaysia : A British national was killed when a tourist boat crashed into her while she was snorkelling in Pulau Redang on Saturday. Police said Joanna Stillwell, 23, was snorkelling with her younger brother at about 8.50am when she was hit by the boat.
They said she had encroached 15 metres into an area where snorkelling was prohibited after she was attracted by a small turtle. A boatman told Police he was manning the boat when he heard a sound. He said he made a U-turn and found the injured victim floating. She suffered stomach injuries and had her right leg fractured. The victim is believed to have died when she was brought into the boat. -CNA

Just got back from Redang. Yes, it was along Pasir Panjang beach..somewhere in front of Ayu Mayang/Redang Pelangi.

my two girls and myself where in the same island that joanna got killed...we met her and she was telling us about how she was working in australia.and how much she was looking forward to seeing her boyfriend in thialand..we would like to send a letter to her family .so if anyone knows how we can contact them we would be very grateful..she was a lovely girl and had so much to live for..at one stage in our conversation she pointed out that her dad was sleeping on a hammock,and she told us how much she was enjoying feeding the fish that surrounded us...she told us they loved bread and she was peeling the sun dried skin from her shoulders to show us how fast they come up to nibble..we were laughing as we never seen anything like that before..im glad we met you joanna even for the short period it was your family are in our thots and prayers godbless shirley and rachel
