Subject: Berjaya Redang Beach Resort????Yes or No?

I am considering staying here for 10 nights in late March/April 05, this will be my first visit to Redang and i am really looking forward to it but i just need a few pointers to help me!
Is this a good time of year generally to go?
Is the food in the Hotel good and is there alot of variety, also are there restaurants nearby?
I expect it to be quite and relaxed at the Hotel, but is the rest of the Island easy to get to by Boat/Road?
My son will be nearly 3, do you think it will be safe getting around the Island with him, in the boats etc?

i dream abt spending 10nites @redang..
fr other posts, which u can still find here ( look further down) berjaya has everything. except roads i think. some pplaces may not be suitable for kids (cliffs).

my opinion & my personal preference, best time to go is june/july/aug and dat's wat i advise all my frens. pple still go in apr/may but i juz tink 6-8 are better. cant comment on food/variety at berjaya coz i haven been there. but remember, redang isn't like tioman at all, if u'e been to tioman. redang is essentially snorkelling, snorkelling & snorkelling (or diving). other activities are minimal..

the "rest" of the island u can get to by boat.. but dont expect to see shopping malls. they'll just be more beaches, more sun tanning, more swimming and more snorkelling.

as with getting around by boats, i wld think u don hav to worry much as the staffs there are friendly and helpful. they'll definitely make sure ur 3yr old kid get on/off the boat safely. if u cant carry him on/off the boat while trying to steady urself, rest assured you will receive plenty of help.

With 10 nights, split between Berjaya and Laguna. Both have their highlights. 10 nights at one place alone may bore you. Y'know, same people, same room, same food, etc. I spent 3 nights at Berjaya - quiet and peaceful - just nice.
