Subject: HELP: public transportation from singapore to merang jetty

Hi all,
I am planning a trip to redang. I will choose the coach, leaving from Singapore or JB, but I do not know where to buy tickets. should i book the tickets in advance?

I'd like to put a little correction to your info re how to get to redang/ perhentian by train.

Get a train from KL Central or Singapore to WAKAF BHARU, not Tanah Merah as stated in the site, then proceed to Kota Bharu, capital of Kelantan. Then you can take a tsxi or a coach to Kuala Besut (Perhentian) or to Merang or Kuala Terengganu.(Redang)

The train will work if your going to Perhentian but if going to Redang, it takes just too much time. There is no coach from Kota Bharu to Merang. You have to take the coach from Kota Bharu to Jerteh/Pasir Puteh then another coach to Kuala Besut before boarding yet another coach to Merang. Or from Kota Bharu to Kuala Terengganu and then to Merang. Taxi's are available for the trip but it think it will be too expensive for most.
