Subject: Where is the barge?

Hi all,

Am planning my 4th trip to paradise in late July. Very sad and shocked to learn of the rapid development along Pasir Panjang (last time I stayed there was back in '98). Can anyone tell me where the barge is? Is it near Redang Reef? Would Redang Holiday be a better choice if I want to avoid the ugly sight ie Laguna? Thanks in advance folks.

In August and October of 2003, the barge is located at the southern sideof Pasir Panjang beach. Kindda inbetween Redang Reef and Redang Beach Resort.

From Redang Holiday, because of the 'bent' in the beach where Tanjong Tengah (Dinosaur rock) is, one would not be able to have a clear line of sight to the barge. Unless, the barge has moved itself further out, I doubt it. It function is to land as close to the beach for loading and unloading of materials.

Thanks mate. Although I am disheartened with how fast the place is going the way of Langkawi and Tioman, I still wanna go there and see for myself. Let's hope it's not as bad as we fear. Cheers.
