Just went there on 9Apr 04. We have a terrible experience staying there. Electricity were not available as the generator kept tripping. We found some cockcroaches like creatures in the toilet. We had to take shower in the dark during evening time as electricity was still not restored. You have to check carefully the condition of the life vest as they will still charge you RM $10 that's in worn out condition. Some tour members life vest was in such a unsafe condition that the foam in the lining came out, and the poor gal was trying to keep her balance. I even have photo as evidence. Electricity was still not restored that very night. The whole resort was in total darkness. What is definitely not acceptable is the living condition in the room. When we shine light on the bed, creeping crawlies were found on the bed and they dissappeared very fast. What kind of resort is this? Who dare to stay in a room with all kinds of creepy crawlies? Perhaps this is a good location for filming Fear Factor. One goes for tour to relax, not to be scared by such incident. We have no choice but to abandon the room and run away in the middle of the night and beg them to take us to a neighbouring resort. From my tour mates, understood that it was still not available for the next day. It is definitely the most horrible trip that I've ever took.

Wow! Thanks for your fascinating description. Sounds like you got really close to nature at this resort - I can imagine Fear Factor participants having to eat whatever they find on their beds! :) BTW, which resort did you 'escape' to, and how was it by comparison? Never stayed at that part of Redang before...
